Gayla Extravaganza

Last Friday was Gayla, “Vermont Law School’s premier drag extravaganza” (according to their Facebook invite. It is an awesome event, hosted by Alliance in remembrance of the Stonewall Riots, where people can dress up in drag, eat, drink and be merry. The host is the fun Sandra Rox, a drag queen from New York who hosted Gayla in the past. Students and faculty members dressed up and performed various numbers from lip syncing to skits to Bollywood dancing (which I got to be a part of *curtsy*). It was definitely a great way to just let off some steam and have a great time. Some of the acts were amazing and so entertaining! I think the highlight was just seeing some of my professors partake in the celebration, and they definitely went all out for Gayla. It’s just also nice to see professors and students alike supporting the same cause. So if you happen to be at VLS next spring, definitely make plans to attend Gayla. You definitely won’t regret it!
